Twitter is more and more becoming an avenue for sharing educational ideas. There are thousands of helpful hints, links, and photos that are shared on Twitter daily by educators. Why, then, would we not utilize the fabulous resource bank available to us? Below I have included a couple of the educational feeds that I follow on Twitter. I hope that these are helpful to you in finding resources on content, pedagogy, and the like.
1. @edconnectr - Connected Educators
2. @BobWise48 - The president of the "Alliance for Excellent Education" (also follow the Alliance itself: @All4Ed)
3. @web20classroom - "Educational Evangelist" Steven W. Anderson
4. @E_Sheninger - Principal, author, and speaker Eric Sheninger 5. @gcouros - Teacher, writer, and speaker George Couros
Each of these 5 handles provide valuable tools for teachers regarding not only teaching pedagogy and practices but also interacting with students and creating a safe and exciting classroom environment. They are all big names in education and have much experience and training in the field of education. Their insights into the profession are so practical and applicable for all teachers. As a Christian educator I believe that it is important for us teachers to do our very best in whatever we do. This is a way to steward well the positions and tasks that God has given to us. Through learning more about teaching practice and pedagogy through Twitter I can become a more informed teacher and better serve the Lord in my work.
With so many resources found on just these 5 feeds - how many more are left out there for us to discover?
