These concept maps outline the two teaching paradigms - teacher-centered and student-centered. I personally align with the student centered teaching paradigm. This paradigm places the focus on the students and gives them more freedom to learn in the way that best works for them. It gives the students the reins of their learning yet still allows the teacher to guide and teach them ways to handle those reins effectively.

Concept maps are an effective way to organize information for students. They allow students to chunk information together which will help them to remember it better. In addition they could be used to compare and contrast different concepts (such as teacher-centered and student-centered teaching paradigms).
